I'm Nelly B., your resident Legal Libra. At the time of this writing, I am currently a 0.5L. "What is a 0.5L?" you may ask. It's honestly something I made up. I use it to describe the fact that I am currently admitted into a conditional program (more on this later). I am starting this blog because I was desperate to find ANY information on conditional programs, especially at SLU. Also, I am not a traditional student, meaning I am older, have an established career, and did not go to law school straight from undergrad. So...I am starting this blog to help those after me get some semblance of structure.

I want to reassure you all that whether you are balancing a full-time job, a family, or other commitments, the path to becoming a lawyer can be challenging but not impossible. The Legal Libra is my passion project aimed at providing support and assistance to those non-traditional students who are venturing into the realm of law school. From blog posts discussing the unique challenges faced by non-traditional students to how-to guides on time management and study tips, The Legal Libra is here to help you along the way.
Additionally, the resources available on The Legal Libra offer guidance on seeking support, building a strong network within the legal community and beyond, and making the most of your law school experience as a non-traditional (and traditional) student.
So, if you are a non-traditional student embarking on the exciting journey of law school, be sure to check out The Legal Libra for valuable insights and resources to help you navigate through this challenge with confidence and grace. Remember, while the road may be long and arduous, with the right support and guidance, success in law school is well within reach.
Oops! I forgot to mention to keep these things in mind as you navigate your way through this blog:
A lot of the information here is from my direct experience with Saint Louis University ("SLU"), which is in no way affiliated with this blog. However, you may find some helpful tips and resources in your law career journey!
Despite me being in the U.S. all my life and losing any trace of an accent, I still tend to write as I am forming French sentences. So I deeply apologize for that in advance.
